I have finally convinced my hubby to work with me on a story, or maybe a series of stories, based on people I know in a fantasy neighborhood. Here is the first part. Should we continue work on this?
Family Fight Club part 1
It is amazing what can go on, right under your very nose, and you have no clue at all.
I have heard stories about underground fight clubs, and sure, I saw the movie, but I never dreamed that not only did they really exist, but there was one right in our own backyard. We have lived here for years and years, ever since we began adopting our children, and Doug, the oldest, is now 22 and off at college and Liz, our youngest, is 21. We love both of our children, and have raised them as if they were our own flesh and blood, and there is nothing that Cindy, my wife, and I would not do for them, and there is nothing they would not do for us or for each other.
This began, I suppose, years ago and has been simmering since then. It involves Liz, Elizabeth, our youngest. Her family died tragically when she was just a baby and we took her in and raised her as one of our own. Her best friend for life was Lacey, who lived next door to us. In fact, for the longest time, the two families were inseparable. You could always find the Brady?s, us, and the Griffin?s, them, together doing something. They had a son, Ralph, a little younger than Doug, and they were friends and always had a friendly competition in whatever sport they were playing. I am proud to say that Doug usually came out on top. In fact, whenever we had a family contest we usually came out on top. Lois and Phillip, the parents, were younger than Cindy and I, who are both in our 40s now. They must have started pumping out their kids when they were teenagers. In addition to Ralph there was the youngest daughter, Corrine, who everyone calls Cory who just turned 18, and Lacey.
The two families were close and often did things together, but it was Liz and Lacey who were like sisters. Actually they were more like two halves of the same girl. Liz was loud and extroverted, Lacey was shy and reserved. They did everything together and would not bump into one without bumping into the other. We watched them grow from darling babies into cute young girls into beautiful young ladies, and into gorgeous young women. I believe the word people use today is ?Hotties?. Both Liz and Lacey are truly that, but perhaps it is a parent?s prejudice but Liz always seemed a little more everything than Lacey. She was the more attractive, we believed, and the more dominant of the two. Not that she was bossy, but Liz usually had her way when it came to the two of them.
As I said, they were best friend for life. Or so it seemed until their senior year in high school. I never saw Liz through the eyes of a man, only the eyes of a father. But I suppose she was coming into her own, as a young woman. Her body had bloomed and she had developed large, but not overly large breasts, and loved to show them off, along with her round and shapely ass, and her rounded tummy. As her parents Cindy and I were rather dismayed at the way Liz showed off her body, but as she constantly reminded us, it was how everyone one dressed. Which I suppose was true, but she did turn out to be something of a clothes horse, and while she was always a head turner, when she began perming her hair, and then made the decision to become a blonde, at first bleaching her naturally dark brunette hair bright blonde, there was no turning back. She still perms and dyes her hair, and men still give her the look.
I realise that this may paint my little girl in a bad light but I want to remain true to the facts. It was around the time that Liz had just dumped her latest loser boyfriend. (Hey, I?m her father! They were all losers and none was good enough for my little girl!) Lacey was going on about the love of her life, a young man named Kyle, and how nothing could ever come between them, and how much she loved him, and how he loved her even more. Now my Liz is not a stupid girl, not really, but she does have her ?blonde moments? on occasion, and sometimes she truly does encompass the phrase ?bubble headed bleach blonde?. I do not know what prompted her to do this but she flat out told Lacey that ?I can take your man any time I want.? Lacey thought the very idea was laughable but Liz proceeded to do just that, sleeping with the love of Lacey?s life for no other reason than she could. And then she not only dumped him but told Lacey about it.
It was not the proudest moment of Liz?s life, and as her parents were are a little ashamed that our little girl would do that. And we know both of our kids are sexually active, as many, of not most kids are, and only asked that they use protection. Still, we hate the idea of Liz getting a reputation as a slut.
That was, in effect, the end of that friendship. I admit that Liz was wrong to do this, but right or wrong we stand behind our children. Liz was out of line and totally wrong to do that to anyone, let alone her best friend for life and Lacey has never forgiven her. The girls had never exchanged as much as a cross word before that incident, but in the years since then there have been several altercations. Cindy and I do our best to keep the girls apart but Liz and Lacey have run into each other and exchanged heated words, and on more than one occasion they have gone even further and exchanged punches. This has caused no end of trouble for us, all of us, and when they ran into each other at the mall month week a hair pulling catfight ensued and luckily Cindy was there to break it up, after Liz had landed some good punches, of course. But the police were called and only the fact that the cop who showed up on the scene, Melinda, is also a neighbor, and knew that the girls had once been friends. If a stranger had shown up it might have ended up in court, or worse.
This has been going on for more than two years. Our former best friends are now our hated enemies. Cindy and I can?t believe we once were close to Philip and Lois. To hear Cindy tell it, Phillip is an arrogant little bitch and Lois is a redheaded whore. ?No wonder the boy is a faggot and the girls are cunts. The apple doesn?t fall far from the tree.? Of course they had the same view of us, I am sure.
I should add that Lacey and the young man got back together. But Liz thought that Lacey was spreading rumors about her, behind her back of course, and as payback she seduced young Kyle again. Not only that, but no sooner had she finished screwing him than Liz called up Lacey to let her know she had done it! ?I told you I could take any man of yours!? Liz laughed when she called her.
I did my best to play peacemaker, (although I have to admit there was little I could say to defend Liz) but at their most recent meeting, in the Griffin?s backyard, where the two of them were supposed to shake hands and patch things up, all hell broke loose. Instead of hugs and handshakes they would up pulling hair and trading punches. They used to wrestle playfully when they were younger and Liz always ended up astride her best friend. But for the first time lacey had managed to get Liz down and was rubbing her face in the dirt and Cindy grabbed Lacey to pull her off our little girl, but then Lois grabbed Cindy to do the same for her baby girl.
Melinda, our cop friend and neighbor, happened to be passing by and broke things up before it turned into a real brawl, and before somebody called the police again. Melinda had just come home after a long shift and separated the families and gave them a pretty good dressing down. At this time it was only Cindy and Liz on the one side and Lacey and her mother Lois on the other. Melinda, who was an attractive redhead, with a shock of red, almost orange red curls and a shapely figure, was still in her uniform. She told them all that things would have to stop.
?You know,? Melinda said, ?you guys used to be the best of friends but this is at least the fourth time in the last year that the police have been here, isn?t it? What the hell happened??
That was the ironic part of it all. In all the years we have lived here, for most of Liz?s life, in fact, and all the neighbors we have had trouble with, from loud music, to punk kids and trash burning, you get the idea, the one family we could count on was the Griffins. But not any longer. Melinda asked the question and Liz answered it, telling the redhead what a slut Lacey was. Lacey shot back that it was Liz who was the cheating slut, and Cindy blurted that of course Lacey was a slut, since everyone knew what a dirty whore Lois was, and Lois chimed in that Cindy was just jealous because she was fat and ugly and no man looked at her with anything but laughter. It was a miracle that it did not turn into a riot then and there. And it would have if Melinda had not been there to keep the peace.
Melinda laid down the law then and there. Literally I might add. She told the four women the facts of life. Four police calls in one year were unacceptable. And it was four just to our street, not counting once at the mall and once at a club. Melinda also stated that Liz and Lacey were both over 21 and far from being juveniles. Melinda told them in no uncertain terms that the only reason they had not been dragged in front of a judge was that she and her partner Shelley had responded to most of the calls, since they knew the individuals involved, and that so far no charges had been filed. If things continued down the path they were currently on one of both of them would end up charged with a crime, in front of a judge, and at the least with a criminal record and at the worst, in jail.
?Do you really want to go to jail over a boy?? Melinda asked.
?She would, she?s a dyke anyway!? Liz snapped.
?Just like her mother!? Cindy added with a smile.
?You ugly whore,? Lois shot back, ?you couldn?t get fucked at a dog kennel!?
?It looks like this is only going to be settled one way,? Melinda said. She seemed to be thoughtful for a moment as the two sets of Mother and daughter steamed and glared at one another. ?It seems you are bound and determined to settle this with your fists. Are you willing to settle this once and for all with an all out fight??
?Fucking A I am,? Liz snapped.
?Damn straight!? Cindy added immediately.
?Anytime,? Lacey said.
?And anyplace,? Lois finished.
?There is one way top settle this and one place.? Melinda said, sternly glaring at the four women, who she now placed side by side. ?There are rules, guidelines that must be obeyed. I will have to check with the powers that be and it will require the participation of both families. But if I can arrange it will you be willing to meet at a certain place, at a certain time and settle this family to family? I can?t tell you more now, but if I can arrange it you will be able to beat each others brains in, if that is what you truly want, without the fear of police reports, courts, judges or jails. But think this through and examine if you are truly willing to pay the price.?
?Any price would be worth it to put this slut in her place!? Liz shouted.
?If I can kick the mother whore?s ass it will be worth it!? Cindy added.
Cindy told me how Melinda smiled.
?Money is not always how you pay,? she said, and then told each set of women that she would be around to their house that night to discuss this further. And until then, ?no rough stuff between any of you or I will not be able to help you this time.?
The idea of settling this with our bitchy neighbors was more than enough enticement for Cindy and Liz to agree, as did Lacey and Lois.
?Until tonight then,? Melinda said as she led my wife and daughter home.

Hi, joriestar!
I was expecting this to be narrated by Cindy, not her husband. What, did the girl shy away from wroting her first hand impressions of the events? I doubt. She is the instigator of her husband participation in this!... Good for her - I still would like her to describe at least the action scenes from a tough hearted woman's perspective.
I'm sure you did not drop the words ?powers that be? by accident, in this promising introduction. They will provide many means to spice up the final conflicts to come, in order to make them more... final. We have plenty of members on both sides of the families divider. Please go on, we have plenty of summer time ahead to read hot stories.
